Mit der iPhone-App "iLiving" steht nun ein erster Prototyp bereit, der laut Anbieter einen Vorgeschmack auf das Mobile Shopping der Zukunft bietet:
"The new application makes it possible to integrate 3D-furniture within a picture of your home on the iPhone. Combining the Augmented Reality software from metaio and the iPhone's features, it is made possible to place virtual furniture models within a picture.
After having added the furniture models, you can move, scale and rotate them. Shake the iPhone to shuffle the selected furniture pieces within the picture. Take a screenshot of your created look and share it with friends and family."
Die brandneue iLiving-App basiert auf der Anwendung YouReality, dank der sich Augmented-Reality-Shopping auch im stationären Internet realisieren lässt:
"YouReality is making it possible for consumers to see products in their own space before they purchase them by integrating Augmented Reality into a suite of commerce applications. The new services allow shoppers to make more confident buying decisions, deliver retailers a higher sales conversion rate, and significantly lower product return costs.
With YouReality, customers can even "bring it home" and try before they buy, allowing consumers to visualize context sensitive products with life-like 3D models in a photo of their own home environment. The resulting image provides a realistic view of what the object will look like in that space with the ability to move the item around and change colors, styles, sizes and textures of the 3D object while viewing it in the photo."
Mit der kostenpflichtigen iPhone-App (Preis: 2,39 Euro) können Anwender momentan 25 beispielhafte Möbelstücke virtuell im eigenen Zuhause platzieren, vergrößern oder auch verrücken (s.a. PDF mit deutschsprachiger Beschreibung).
Transaktionen lassen sich in der iPhone-Anwendung momentan (noch) nicht durchführen. Und auf dem iPad wohl nie: Zumindest wenn Apple auch in der nächsten Gerätegeneration weiter auf eine integrierte Kamera verzichtet.
